Benefit Information

Support Barb's Battle benefit was held on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Bourbon Street. The turnout for this benefit was more than expected and the benefit was a huge success, we hope you had a good time.

A Word from Barb (day of the benefit)

I would like to thank you for being here. It means a great deal to me and to my family. We feel wrapped in prayer and love from all of you. It's hard to put into words the emotions that fill my mind as I write this. I am faced with the greatest challenge of my life, yet because of the Lord and each of you, I feel confident I will overcome. I have learned many things in the past several months: The love of family and friends is life's greatest blessing. Faith and hope will always prevail. There will always be good days following bad days. With suffering, blessings become so much more visible. And I have been truly blessed with the love and support of such wonderful people.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have provided me! You have touched my family and me in so many ways. When I was first diagnosed I asked my doctor what makes the difference for those patients living longer and he said with much confidence, "the support of family and friends and a positive mental attitued." YOu have gifted me with both and so much more.

A special thanks to my kids Luke, Hallie and Emily, who take such great care of me each day and give me reason to remain positive. And to Dan, my best friend and the love of my life who provides tender caring, inspiration and humor each day of my life.
